On Wednesday, we gathered as a school community to celebrate the Feast of the Holy Rosary, a special opportunity to honour Blessed Mary, the mother of Jesus, and to deepen our understanding of the beautiful prayer known as the Holy Rosary.
Traditionally, the Feast of the Holy Rosary is celebrated on October 7th. However, as this date falls during our Term 3 holiday break, we came together on Wednesday to mark this important occasion.
Holy Rosary Catholic School has a rich history rooted in faith and prayer. The school was established in 1961 to provide a Catholic education to the children of St Bernard’s Parish in Claremont. Our beginnings were humble, we first opened our doors on January 31st with just 37 students.
The name "Holy Rosary" holds deep significance. It was chosen in honour of the parishioners who faithfully prayed the Rosary together, asking for the establishment of a parish school in the Claremont area. Their prayers were answered, and today, Holy Rosary Catholic School is home to over 440 students, from Kindergarten through to Year Six.
As we celebrated the day, we remembered our roots,a community founded on prayer, faith, and a shared commitment to Catholic Education. We hope to continue growing in love and faith, guided always by the example of our Blessed Mother.
