Gr 3 - 6 Athletics Carnival Report

As the moon dove behind the hills the hard working and dedicated HPE crew began setting up for the 2025 3-6 athletics carnival. The dew, enjoyed by our new family of ducks, had settled in, waiting for the morning sun to politely ask it to leave.  With mother nature looking after us early we kicked off without a fuss. As the day wore on however, mother nature laughed at us for taking her for granted, dumping about 50mm in 10 minutes! But we are resilient and we are brave here at the Rosary and we emerged from the classrooms dry and with a steely resolve we carried on into the afternoon!

Some stars were beginning to emerge, Noah Nomikos the new Claremont flyer is fast becoming an athlete to watch as he took out the back to back in the track events. Ollie Webb emerged from the Grade 4 wilderness to throw the Vortex into the stratosphere, keeping the plovers grounded and mouths ajar in wonder. Grades competed in all of their events with great Holy Rosary Spirit, encouraging each other and trying their very best. It was a day to remember for a number of reasons but in the end a winner had to be crowned with the Mighty D’Arcy Lions taking out the 2025 Athletics Carnival! We finished the day with Miss. Smith, the Brighton Flash, who challenged our best to a 100m race. There was no denying our best have a ways to go!

A big thank you to Mr Riza, his 2IC Mr Jones, Mr Luttrell, Mrs Spotswood and the evergreen Ms Reeve for turning up with the sparrows and setting up for the day. Also, a big thanks to all staff and parents who attended, your support is always greatly appreciated and we hope you enjoyed the coffee and cakes on offer! See you all in Week 6 for the Kinder mini Aths Carnival and the P-2 Athletics Carnival!
