Dear Parents and Guardians,
Since our last newsletter the Conclave has elected a new Pope! Pope Leo XIV has been appointed as the new leader of the Catholic Church. He was born in the United States and for many years he has been a missionary priest who helped people in Peru, South America. Pope Leo XIV wants to bring peace to the world and help people work together. He cares about kindness, fairness, and listening to others. He is the first pope from the United States and the first from his group of priests called the Augustinians.
What fantastic days we had at our Primary School Cross Country events! Kinder was held last Wednesday and Prep to Grade 6 on Friday. The sun was shining, the students were smiling, and everyone gave it their best effort! All runners displayed amazing determination, great sportsmanship, and lots of cheering from friends and families. It was wonderful to see so many happy faces crossing the finish line! Congratulations to all our runners — you made us proud! And a big thank you to the PE Team - Mr Johnson & Miss Smith, teachers, and our amazing Grade 6 helpers who made the day such a success.
On Friday morning our school took part in Walk Safely to School Day, and what a wonderful morning it was! Students and teachers walked together to school, helping to make our bodies healthy. Along the way, we learned about road safety and the importance of staying active. It was great to see so many bright smiles, safe steps, and friendly faces.Thank you to everyone who joined in—every step counts!
A reminder that it is only 10 km/ph when driving through the school carpark. For the safety of all users please use the crossings when moving into the school.
Congratulations to our Teacher Assistant, Melodee Estcourt, who was this week awarded the City of Clarence's Young Citizen of the Year! What an amazing achievement - Melodee not only works full time but works just as hard behind the scenes supporting the work of the St Vincent De Paul Society!

We share the wonderful news that Pope Leo XIV, formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost has been appointed the new leader of the Catholic Church. The word Pope comes from a word meaning “father.” The Pope is like a spiritual father to Catholics everywhere. He lives in a special place called the Vatican in Rome, and he spends his time praying, teaching, guiding and helping the Church. His appointment marks a new chapter in the life of the Church, and we pray that the Holy Spirit will guide him with wisdom, compassion, and strength as he takes on this sacred responsibility. As a school community, let us keep Pope Leo in our prayers, asking God to bless his leadership and inspire unity, hope, and faith across the world.
Heavenly Father,
You have raised Your servant, Pope Leo XIV, to the Chair of Saint Peter.
Pour out Your abundant blessings upon him.
Through him, guide Your pilgrim Church along the path to Heaven.
Grant him wisdom to discern Your will,
Courage to fulfill it,
And charity to shepherd Your people with the Heart of Christ.
In this time of transition,
Bring peace to troubled hearts,
Joy to those who suffer,
And hope to the despairing.
May he be a faithful successor to Saint Peter,
A humble servant of Your Word,
And a fearless herald of Your Divine Mercy and Truth.
Strengthen him with the grace of the Holy Spirit,
That he may lead the Church in unity, holiness, and fidelity.
We entrust him to the maternal care of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
And to the prayers of all the saints.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Grade 4 have been learning about Jesus and his Resurrection that occurred on Easter Sunday. Four Maroon have worked very hard and have made a small diorama of
the tomb that Jesus was laid in after his death.
