Dyslexia Month
Did you know that 1 in 10 people are dyslexic?
This month is Dyslexia Awareness Month. You may have noticed that some buildings have been illuminated in red light to raise awareness.
At HRCS we support students with dyslexia by making daily, personalised adjustments so that all learning can be accessed and expressed by all.
We run intensive, teacher lead and dyslexia friendly interventions. Within classrooms, we focus on the 5 essential areas of evidence based Literacy Instruction; Phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and reading comprehension.
As teachers and parents it is our job to support students with dyslexia and to ensure that children see their dyslexia as the super power it can be. Some of the most creative, successful and innovative people are dyslexic and it is our job to understand, value and support students with dyslexia so that they can achieve amazing things.
