Dear families,

“The Only Constant in Life Is Change.”  

Our lives are filled with change; some good and some not so good.  We have particularly noticed the effects of change in the past two years, as the whole world has been forced into a new state of being with the impacts of Covid 19.

When change occurs, even if this change is positive, it activates the conflict sensors in the brain.  The brain feels much more comfortable with familiar old patterns, and anything new presents a dilemma about how we will react to, and adapt to, this change.  Change is however necessary for growth, development and new experiences, meaning it is not something to be afraid of.

I would like to personally thank everyone who has reached out with such kind words regarding my appointment at Sacred Heart for next year.  This is a change that for me will cause a great deal of sadness after being with this amazing school community for the past 15 years.  There is a comfortable familiarity that comes from knowing staff, students and parents and I have especially appreciated and would like to thank everyone for their support this term whilst Bernie has been away.

We look forward to welcoming Bernie back next term as we finish off the 2021 year together.
