Dear families,

Following the conclusion of the fare amnesty period, from Monday 6 July all Metro Tasmania services will resume fare collection and boarding from the front door.

We know the return to normal service will be an adjustment for many of our customers.

Perhaps most pertinent is that Metro is still asking passengers to avoid cash payments on board, or to have the correct change if they must pay cash, wherever possible. A simple way to avoid cash payments is to carry a Greencard (which are currently free) and can be managed through a Greencard online account, which allows passengers to top up online and even set up an automatic top up, so they never have to worry how much money is on their Greencard.
