News from Grade 6
On Monday, September 2nd we flew on a plane at 6 am to Canberra. Even though our plane was delayed in Melbourne it couldn't have wrecked the wonderful time our trip was! One of my most favourite things to do was to visit the Australian Institute of Sport. It was awesome because there was so much to see and do. It was interesting to see the gym where all the athletes rain in. Taylor our guide explained that they trained for 30 hours per week!
The War Memorial was awesome too. It was great to see what happened in Australian history through the wars and how we got to where we are today. It was very upsetting to put poppies down. It showed us what nurses and soldiers did to risk their lives for Australia and New Zealand and that is what got us here today.
Another favourite spot was Questacon. Lara said it was so cool to explore and do some of the science experiments and activities. It was really enjoyable because we don't have anything like that in Tassie.
Bree said she loved Parliament House because she loved learning about Democracy and she would love to go there and work when she is older.
Caitlyn said she loved the Dinosaur Museum the most because it was something different from what she expected.
On behalf of Grade 6, I would like to thank the teachers and staff for taking us. I'd like to thank Mrs Brooks especially as she went three days with no voice and didn't stop doing what she had to do! Finally, I'd like to thank PACER for providing each student with a $200 discount towards the trip. Without their contribution, we wouldn't have been able to go.
