Principal's Report
Dear Parents & Guardians,
What a busy and amazing term we have had! The students have been engaged in wonderful classroom work, excursions, Friday Footy & Netball for Grades 5 & 6, and last week we saw the culmination of our Dance unit of work for Grades 3-6. Miss Hailey Peters choreographed the dances with her able assistant, Mr Ben Johnson! We were so proud of the performers as well as the soloists who shared their amazing talents with us. The students were so pleased with what they achieved! We are truly blessed to have such a dedicated staff who work to create such opportunities.
Thank you to the wider school community for your ongoing support of these events throughout the term. In particular, I would like to acknowledge Scott, Dallise, David & Andrea, four of our Grade 6 parents who ran the BBQ last Friday night at the Disco. I don’t think they realised quite how busy they would be! They did it with a smile on their face and were so helpful! Thank you to Woolworths Shoreline & Banjos Claremont for the generous donations of sausages and bread for the BBQ. Big thanks to ‘DJ Chelsea B’ for your music skills!
Today at our assembly we drew the fundraising raffle for our Grade 6 Canberra trip. Thank you to Pennicott Wilderness Journeys for their generous donation of our first prize, our Grade 6 families for contributing to the second and third prize hampers and Mrs Andrea Hewitt for the hamper pack from HALS (Horticulture & Landscape Supplies). We appreciate everyone who has purchased tickets to support this fundraiser. Congratulations to our prize winners (listed elsewhere in the newsletter).
A reminder that for Kiss and Drop users in the morning or afternoon, that is best to move to the front position to enable a smooth flow of traffic. Cars should not be left unattended. If you need to get out of your car, please find a parking spot.
Mrs Nicole Taylor, our Student Support Coordinator has decided to pursue a new pathway and she is undertaking a Master's Degree in Counselling. We are very excited for Nic to be pursuing an area that she is so well suited to and has a passion for. Nicole has resigned from her position, effective at the end of Term 4. We will be advertising for her replacement in the coming weeks. We are grateful for the wonderful work Nic has done to support our students and their families.
I wish all our families a restful two-week break. We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday 16th October.
Kind regards
Susan McGann
