We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible school community for their overwhelming support during our recent fundraising efforts! With your enthusiastic participation in events like the Walkathon, Crazy Sock Day, Icy Pole Wednesdays and the Lolly Jar Raffle, we have raised an impressive $3,691 so far! Your generosity and commitment to our school's initiatives have truly made a difference.
But the excitement doesn't stop here! We still have more in store for you. Our Dance Review, is just around the corner, promising to be an event filled with entertainment and talent. We also have our Disco on Friday 22nd of September and this will be a free event. A sausage sizzle will also accompany the Disco with sausages and drinks available for a small cost. A huge thank you to the Rye family at Bakers Delight Claremont for their donation of bread for this event. Additionally, we have one more Icy Pole Wednesday to come and our 10kg Chocolate Block raffle was drawn yesterday, congratulations to the winner, Hugo Shadbolt.
In line with our commitment to providing a well-rounded education, Grade 6 has been delving into the world of democracy this term in preparation for our upcoming trip to Canberra. We were fortunate to have guest visits from local politicians Andrew Wilkie and Josh Willie, who shared valuable insights. Speaking of our democracy studies, we're thrilled to announce that our Grade 6 class will soon be featured in the Glenorchy Gazette for our collaborative work with Josh Willie and our upcoming visit from Elise Archer, another esteemed local representative. These experiences provide our students with a unique opportunity to engage with our democratic processes and understand the importance of civic participation.
Looking ahead, Week 9 holds an exciting adventure – a bushwalk that we are all eagerly anticipating! And, not to forget, our Leavers tops have arrived, creating an atmosphere of excitement among the students as they prepare for their transition to the next phase of their academic journey.
Once again, thank you for your unwavering support, and let's keep the spirit of giving, learning, and civic involvement alive in our school community!
Warm regards,
Grade 6 Team
