Dear Parents & Guardians,
It was wonderful to see such high levels of participation and enjoyment in our School Cross Country last week. Although we had to make some last minute changes due to the inclement weather on Wednesday morning we were blessed later in the day with a lovely clear and calm day. Occasions such as this are a wonderful celebration of school spirit, resilience and support for each other. I am always heartened to see those students who may not love running giving it a go, contributing to their team and in turn seeing their classmates cheering them on to the finish line!
As noted later in the newsletter our final assembly for the term will be led by our Prep classes on Wednesday 6th July at 1:45 pm. Given the low numbers of students and staff who have contracted Covid this term, it is timely and appropriate to invite parents to attend in person. We look forward to sharing this occasion with you. Moving forward parents will be welcome at our fortnightly assemblies. We will still zoom each assembly and provide a zoom link for those parents and guardians who cannot make it onsite.
If students are absent from school we remind parents that the preferred option is to include an absentee note on Compass prior to 9:00 am. The school office is a busy place and if we can reduce the number of phone calls coming in that can be dealt with in other efficient ways, that would be appreciated. For any student who leaves before the end of the day at 2:50 pm, they must be signed out at the office by their parent or guardian.
The Qkr! App is a great invention and is fabulous for ordering your child's canteen order on Thursday & Friday. We have been finding that this app is particularly busy between 8:00 - 9:00 am. It is used Australia wide and at this peak time there can be difficulties with processing orders. It would be great if parents could order the night before or earlier in the morning. We also ask that you check your order has gone through. Your order is complete when you see a message requesting you return to the Home Screen and/or view your receipt.
Please don't hesitate to contact me by email at susan.mcgann@catholic.tas.edu.au or phone the school office.
Regards
Susan McGann
