Father Suresh visiting Prep
In Prep, students have been learning about the Church. They have discovered that the Church is a community of people who believe in Jesus Christ and are welcomed through the Sacrament of Baptism. On Monday Preps had two very special guests, Father Suresh and baby Mikey. Father Suresh demonstrated to the students what happens during a Baptism and the special items that are needed. The Preps were very engaged and loved watching baby Mikey be baptised.
Feast of Pentecost
On Sunday June 8, we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, celebrating the gift of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost always occurs 50 days after the death and resurrection of Jesus, and 10 days after his ascension into heaven. Pentecost marks the moment when the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles, with tongues of fire resting on them, they were filled with courage and spoke in different languages, so that people from every nation could understand the message of God’s love. It is one of the most important feast days of the year that ends the Easter season and celebrates the beginning of the Church. Pentecost is often called the “birthday of the Church” because it was the beginning of the apostles’ mission to share the Good News with the whole world. The Holy Spirit unites us in our faith, encouraging us to live out Jesus’ teachings with love, passion and strength.

Lord, as we worship today on Pentecost Sunday, give us a vision. Move us by your Holy Spirit.
Bring good news to us all.
Bring freedom and peace to broken people,
And let us get a taste of Heaven here on Earth.
Open our eyes to see you as you are.
And open our hearts to praise you.
Give us a vision that will take us out of our comfort zones
And lead us into new ways of serving you.
Help us to be agents of your love to all people
In a world where there is much division and hate.
Helps us to be beacons of hope
In a world that is sinking deeper into despair.
Help us to be agents of your peace
In a world that is torn apart by conflict and wars.
In our worship today our God,
Give us a vision through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Thank you to our students, families and staff for your amazing support of our Pyjama Day on Wednesday! It was wonderful to see everyone supporting The Archbishop’s Samaritan Fund, helping families in need. With your support, we have raised over $470.
