Dear Parents & Guardians,
Congratulations to our three Grade 3/4 teams who participated in the recent Southern Basketball Tournament. Following on from the success of our 5/6 teams, we were very proud of the enthusiasm and efforts of our students. Our Div 3 boys team played four games and convincingly won three of them. An impressive effort as many players had not played competitively before!
Our Div 2 Girls had two convincing wins - a draw against Cambridge PS and then played against them again in the Grand Final. This was a heart-stopper of a game - after having led by one or two points all game they went down by one point with seconds to go! Such an effort! Well done on being Runners-Up!
Finally, our Div 2 Boys team had convincing wins in their three pool games making it through to the Semi-Final. The semi was a closer match but our boys won by three points putting them through to the Grand Final. The final match of the day against Sorell School was a see-saw of points up and down but in the end, our boys won by 5 points! Congratulations to the Div 2 Champions!
Thanks to our coaches, Kirt Shields, Riley McCreghan & Michelle Bergman, our coordinator Lauren Young, families and supporters for all your efforts to prepare, train, and cheer on our students!
It was an absolute pleasure this week to listen to the Grade 5 Leadership Speeches for 2025. Thirty-seven students put themselves forward to be considered for a leadership role, either School Captain, School Vice Captain, House Captian or House Vice Captain. A lot of time, effort, preparation and practice was evident. We were very impressed with the calibre of speeches…making it very difficult to decide! We look forward to announcing next week our student leadership team for 2025.
Yesterday afternoon we were very excited for our Kindergarten classes to participate in their first Athletics Carnival. Many fun events were planned and enjoyed by the Kinders. Lots of future athletes! Thank you to Mr Johnson, our Grade 6 helpers, staff and families for all your efforts to support our successful carnival!
Congratulations to Poppy Roberts & Harriet Bishop, two of our Grade 6 students who recentlycompetedinthe Southern First LEGO League competition with their Devil Robotics Team. The competition held at Sacred Heart Collge saw the team perform very well and they have earnt a ticket to the Nationals Cometition on December 1st in Sydney! In addition this, the team the girls were in - The Imps, scored 245 in the Robot Game and they also won the Innovation project Award! What a fabulous achievement girls - good luck in Sydney!
