Dear Parents & Guardians,
Our Grade 6 students have had an amazing time this week experiencing everything that Canberra has to offer - Parliament House, Questacon, High Court of Australia, AIS, Australian War Memorial and much more. This trip allows the students to experience first-hand what they have been learning through the curriculum at school and we sincerely thank all the staff who made it possible - Mrs Spotswood, Ms Eastwood, Mr O’Brien, Mr Johnson, Chelsea and Mrs Taylor plus Mrs Berry for her amazing behind the scenes organisational efforts.
On Wednesday we celebrated a very important morning with our Grandparents’ and Special Persons’ Day. It was wonderful to see our hall full of such special visitors who mean so much to our students. As they moved into the classrooms there were hugs and kisses followed by much activity and chatter. Thank you to all the families who provided a scrumptious morning tea for our visitors.
Friday was a busy day for our students as both the Inter-School Catholic Carnival and Marimba Mania were held. Students headed off to the Domain to compete in track and field activities, competing against students from Catholic schools across Hobart. A big thanks to Mr Johnson for organising this opportunity for our students.
Students from Grades 3-6 have been practising for Marimba Mania throughout the year, giving up their lunchtimes to perfect their performances. Students from across many schools descended on the Kingston Hub to perform together. Mrs Williams was super proud of how they performed and represented Holy Rosary on the day. A huge thank you to Mrs Williams for the time and effort put into making this event possible.
Mrs Libby Piesse has tendered her resignation from HRCS. She has been successful in winning the role of Director of Mission & Catholic Identity at Mount Carmel College in 2025. This is a fabulous role and one that is very well suited to Libby’s skills in the pastoral and religious areas of a school. As an old alumni, they are thrilled to welcome her back. We are very sorry to see Libby go but know she will excel in her new role.
