Sacrament of Eucharist At Holy Rosary Catholic School
We congratulate our 21 Sacramental Candidates who celebrated their First Communion at St Bernard's Church, Claremont last Sunday. It was a great event, shared with families, parishioners and members of staff.
Our First Eucharist is a sacrament, that is, a visible sign of God's action in our lives. It is important to prepare well in order to experience it the best you can. We thank Fr Suresh, Mrs Jenny Ploughman and Mrs Libby Piesse for assisting our Candidates and their families in the preparation for this Sacrament.
Everyone experiences First Communion differently. Some are deeply moved by it. What counts is what's happening in your heart, where God is changing you from the inside out. Each time you receive Communion, you become a little bit more like Jesus. You will have more and more power within yourself to love as He does.
If you were baptized as a baby, First Communion is usually the next big step in a lifelong friendship with Jesus. Each time you receive Jesus in Communion, you can share with Him everything that is on your mind; your family, your friends, your challenges at school, your dreams, your fears. The more you do this, the closer to him you will feel. And you will begin to notice how He helps you to think and to act with love, as He does. Others will notice too. That way others can discover Jesus through you.
" The day of my First Holy Communionwas one of the most beautiful days of my life...It;'s not only because of our nice clothes or the gifts we receive, nor even because of the parties! It is above all because, that day, we receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time! ... I should welcome him with love and listen closely to him. In the depths of my heart, I can tell him, for example; "Jesus, I know that you love me ... I give you all my joys, my troubles and my future."
