REFUGEE WEEK
This week we come together to celebrate World Refugee Week, a week designated by the United Nations to honour refugees around the world.
This Week we celebrate the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution.
This year World Refugee Day is an occasion to recognise our shared humanity through our experiences of the pandemic and to heal wounds, learn from each other and move forward to a brighter future for all.
It is an opportunity for us to bring hope to the lives of people who have lost everything.
Let us pray that here in Australia we will welcome refugees who come to us seeking a new home with open arms and open hearts.
Prayer for Refugees
Loving God, your son Jesus showed us how to be welcoming and accepting to all people.
May we, through his example, open our hearts, our minds, and our arms and bring healing to those who come to Australia seeking a new home.
Help us to bring hope to refugees so that through warm words, generous hearts and welcoming deeds they can build a new life in peace and safety.
We ask this prayer in Jesus’ name
Together as a school , Holy Rosary Students have been focusing on what it is to be a refugee and what it is we can do to assist those who seek refuge in Australia.

Loving God
As a School Community
may we be inspired by the actions of Jesus who welcomed and accepted all people.
May we offer healing and hope for a better life to all refugees in Australia
and build a loving and caring community that draws everyone together
no matter their colour, race or beliefs.
We ask this prayer through Jesus, your Son.
Amen
